Note: You may send any type of these files however be certain that the person receiving the attachment is able to open the attachment. This means having the same software or software compatible with that used to create the file. Adobe Acrobat is a very popular free software program that is widely used by all computer users. These files are .pdf files. You commonly see these files on web sites as they are universally accepted across PC and MAC platforms.
Attaching a file
The specifics of attaching a file to an email message vary from one email program to the next. For the exact steps for a particular email program, consult the program's user manual, help files, or one of the links listed below. In general, here is how you ATTACH A FILE to an email message.
1. Open your e-mail program, launch a new message window, and compose your message.
2. Complete the email message as usual (subject, recipients, and text )
3. Click on the attach icon (often a picture of a paperclip) on your menu bar, or select the appropriate menu option to attach a file.
4. Browse your hard drive or removable disks to locate the file you want to attach. Click it to highlight the name, and then click the Insert button. Note: the name of the file you want to attach and where it is located on your computer.
5. In the file attachment dialog box or window, select the file you want to attach. Click on Attach or Insert, as the case may be.
6. An icon or message should now appear indicating that the file has been attached. You should be able to view an icon or text of the file you just attached to verify that it is there. You can also click on the icon to open the file and verify that it is the correct file.
7. If you have more than one file to send, repeat this process for each individual file.
8. Send the message.
