To Create an Other Event (Dryland, Away Tournament etc)
 
 
You can easily create an other event in XSport NeXus.  There 3 ways that other events can be created depending on your requirement. 

1. Add an Other Event  - one at a time
2. Add an Other Event - using the recurring methodology (used when an event may be held at the same time each week)
3. Import Other Event from a spreadsheet (.xls or .csv)
The steps on this page are to Add an Other Event - one at at time. For Adding an Other Event using the other methods return to the Creation of Events Menu.

 
To CREATE an OTHER EVENT from the XSport main screen:

1.     Select the Work with the Schedule option from the main screen as in the image below.

2.     Select the Add ..New Event button from the bottom of the Schedule Maintenance screen.

3.    As in the image below complete the following fields:
DIVISION: (mandatory)
EVENT TYPE: (mandatory) - SELECT OTHER
EVENT ID: (mandatory) You may use the AUTO assigned ID or edit to reflect your own numbering.  The  Event ID can be Alpha / Numeric
START DATE: (mandatory) Select the down arrow icon to have the calendar pop up so that you can change dates. You may as well type in this field using the format mm/dd/yyyy.
START TIME: (mandatory) Type in the correct start time for the event.
END DATE: (mandatory) Select the down arrow icon to have the calendar pop up so that you can change dates. You may as well type in this field using the format mm/dd/yyyy.
END TIME: (mandatory) Edit this time if needed for the the correct end time for the event. NOTE: You may have any event that runs more then 24 hours. For example Teams who go on AWAY Tournaments, and you would like to book them so they cannot have games or practices during this time.
DESCRIPTION: (optional) This field may be used if you want to identify something unique about the event. (name of the tournament, clinic)
FACILITY: (mandatory) Use the down arrow icon to select the Facility where the event will be held. You may use your keyboard to quickly find the facility instead of scrolling. i.e. Type T for all the facilities that begin with T.
OF SPECIAL NOTE: If you are booking a teams to different activities other then arenas or fields create facilities using the SETUP utility to create facilities named TEAM EVENT or AWAY TOURNAMENTS, DRYLAND. Remember to make theses "facilities" part of your centre and set them to be available for the whole season. Now you can manage teams even when they are off the ice.
HOME: (mandatory) Place the team as the home team who is participating in the event. Use the down arrow icon to pick the home team.
AWAY: (optional) Use this field if there are more then two teams that are participating in the event. Use the down arrow icon to pick the away team.
HOME SCORE: (optional) This is to be used for games.
AWAY SCORE: (optional) This is to be used for games.
3.   Once complete with all practice information, from the bottom of this screen Select the button SAVE & CLOSE or SAVE, CLOSE & MAIL or CANCEL
SAVE & CLOSE: Will save the event information and return you to the Schedule Maintenence Screen.
SAVE, CLOSE & MAIL: Will save the event information, open a new mail message (from your default mail program) and auto fill the event particulars in the body of the email message and return you to the Schedule Maintenence Screen.
CANCEL: Will return you to the Schedule Maintenence Screen and not save any event information.
