Before first use, you must create or open a database. This database will be holding all of your scheduling information.
NeXus includes a demo database with the software. This can be used as a guide on how to create divisions, teams, and events. In order to access this database you must restore the “demo” database and set it to be the active database.
These steps are to be completed upon first time installation only.
Step 1. Using the NeXus XSport toolbar go to File, and then on the submenu select Open. Step 2. Select the Button Restore Database. Step 3. Click Browse, and find the file at this location. Find 060821-Nexus-Xsport-DEMO.bak
You may use the below image as a guide.


Step 4. Find the File. Click Open
Step 5. Next, using the image below match your screen to the same presets then select Restore Database.

Step 6. Once completed, you will be prompted with a "restore succeeded" box.
Step 7. Click Close.|
Step 8. The final step is to set the OrgCode to be the word DEMO.
Step 9. Using the XSport Toolbar go to File, Select Open so that you are using the same Set Active Database Screen as below.

Step 9. Populate the Org Codes, by selecting the "Populate Org Codes" button then use the drop down arrow to highlight the word DEMO.
Step 10. Select Open Database.
You will then be returned to the main XSport Screen. Under Seasons there should be 4 sample seasons to work with as per the below image. You may select one and begin playing with the temporary data.
Tip When you are ready to begin to CREATE your own schedule. Come back to this screen and create the ORG CODE to NXS.
Tip To return to the Demo data change the ORG CODE back to DEMO.
