You can easily backup a database to protect yourself incase of a corruption or you need to move the database to another computer. When you backup you are creating a copy of you your data that you then should burn the backed up files to a CD or External Storage device (Zip drive, USB key), or copy them to another backup location. It is a good idea to back up important data to a place other than your hard disk, such as a burnable disc, external hard disk, or network volume.
To BACKUP from the XSport menu toolbar (toolbar: Is the menu bar at the top of the main screen with the buttons and options that you use to carry out commands.)
1. Select the Tools option from the menu.
2. Select the Backup Database option from the submenu.
3. Identify the location of where the backup file will be saved, then select SAVE. The location by default will be c:\NXSDATA.
The name of the file will automatically be created using the following format.
Current date using format <yyymmdd> + -NeXus-XSport + <name of database>. bak.
Example 070630nexusSchedbase, where the date of the backup was on June 30 2007, name of the database is Schedbase.
4. Once the backup file has been created. A message will be displayed Backup Completed.
5. Click OK.
